I am Andrea Grancini, passionate about theater, movement, bodywork and education. After a Master's Degree in Economics and more then ten years working as Administrator, Controller and Project Manager in the sustainable development and retail sector, I turned my career into theater and bodywork.
I have enjoyed more than ten years of my work in the administration, controlling and project management because it allowed me to travel and learn about other cultures, work in team, take responsibility, gain respect and trust. I have been driven by changing and improving things, organizing and solving problems to improve the work and create an environment where persons could developed.
But after a very stressful work in South Africa in 2013, I was burnout. In that year I faced the true: I was losing myself running after the other's approval and my real talents were not in that kind of jobs.
In order to add value to the world and make a real difference, I understood, it was time to find my Self. I didn't want to regret not having pursued my passions, so I counted on all things that made me happy since I was a child, I started to reconnect with the inner child and decided to invest everything to turn my career. At 39 years old, thank you to my companion and my son who supported my choice, I decided to study physical theatre - in particular Integral Movement and Performance Practice - and different kind of massages.
Through these past four years I have been working as theatre practitioner with children, youth, adults and with groups of disabled performers on several creative projects and outreach sessions on behalf of Opening Doors Malta. I am also working as massage therapist in team with osteopaths.
It took courage, consistency and trust to discover my professional path.

I have a Master Degree in Economics, and before I graduated in Accountancy.
It was in 2014 when I turned my career into bodywork and theatre and went back to school. Since then I obtained a certificate in Holistic Massage, Reflexology, Deep Tissue - Myofascial Release, Manual Lymphatic and a certificate in Integral Movement and Performance Practice with London School of Performing Arts (LISPA).
I am now pursuing a Master in Integral Movement and Performance Practice with Rose Bruford College (UK) and I am in my second year of learning Unfold Technique about Alexander Technique, Movement, Improvisation.
I speak Italian, English, Spanish, German.
I connect the bodywork with the theatre practice, so body awareness, movement, fully embodied emotions, authenticity and creative expression become one whole thing. I work towards processes that help people to find more connection with themselves and their creativity.
With massage and bodywork, I help the person with pain to understand the possible causes and work with me through movement to easy the discomfort. Through an understanding of the tensegrity structure of the body in the gravitational field and through the recognition of patterns and habits the person is caught in, the person can aim is to gain more mobility and integrate more awareness in the use of own Self.
With theatre, I offer workshops and laboratory to groups to co-create and devise theatre-dance pieces. I delve in the space of body to find what want to emerge through the body as raw performative materials. I am aware that this approach is intense and challenges our own restrictions, and I have seen that brings clarity to the main action of the story one wants to tell, so that the story has a solid and authentic plot. Not just intellectual but embodied.
I work in depth, with individuals and groups - both with bodywork and theatre - as much as I work deep on myself.
I hold a creative space where listening, presence and dialogue among the parts allow uniqueness, authenticity to come out with pleasure.
My vision for both theatre and bodywork, is to discover always new ways of working that allow a more integrated - dynamic - efficient creative state to emerge in the body and for the Self.
My ultimate aim is to unfold the creative potentials of the individuals and groups.
My vision in the performative practice is to access the high creative potential in the body in co-creation with others like a whole collective body that expands. So that the final performance creates an awe effect.
